October Theatre Classes

Our exciting October Half-Term School is led by a dynamic team of teachers from our full-time programme, alongside experienced professionals from the theatre industry.

The focus of the week is on high-quality vocational training designed to build confidence, enhance communication skills, and develop performance techniques. No audition is required, making the course ideal for both beginners and those with some theatre experience. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends in a fun, supportive environment.

This five-day course is packed with energetic and varied theatre classes, including:

Drama
Drama Audition Technique
Singing
Singing with Microphone Technique
Street Dance
Jazz

Whether you're looking to explore the performing arts for the first time or build on existing skills, this course promises a creative and inspiring week for all participants.

How It Works:
On Monday, students are introduced to their group sessions and the week's schedule with classes in singing, drama, and dance.

Family Friday:
Parents and guardians are warmly invited to drop in and observe classes at any time on Friday to see what their children have been working on.
Please note: We advise students not to bring valuables, as we cannot be held responsible for any lost or damaged personal items.

DVD club:
Offered daily from 4:00–4:50 PM. Students can sign up each morning on arrival.

Age Groups:
Students work in separate groups according to age, but generally our age groupings are:

7-8yrs
9-10yrs
11-13yrs
14-18yrs

(Age groups may be subject to change depending on bookings)

Daily Times:
School opens at 9.30 each day.
Classes commence at 9.45 each day.
Classes end at 4.10pm.
DVD club 4.10-4.50pm.
School closes at 5.00pm.
Students being collected by parents/carers MUST be collected each day by 5pm.

General Information

What to wear and uniform
During your time here, we recommend that comfortable clothes and shoes are worn - tracksuits, jazz shoes, trainers etc.
Students may purchase SYTS t-shirts during their week if they wish, and they can collect them during the first day of the course. However, uniforms are NOT compulsory.
Please do not bring valuables to school as we cannot take responsibility for loss or damage to personal property. 

Lunch and Break
Our cafeteria is run independently by 'CH & Co'. Students can purchase a weekly lunch voucher during online registration. Students may bring packed lunches. Please note: due to certain students suffering from nut allergies, we ask all visitors not to bring nuts or nut products into the school. Only students who are aged 16 and over with a permission note from parents/carers may leave the building at lunchtime. Permission notes should be given at reception during registration.
During morning and afternoon breaks, all students can purchase snacks and drinks.

First Aider
Our first-aider/nurse is on duty at all times. Please ensure that they are aware of any problem or medication that your child may need. 

February Theatre Classes

Join us for a fun and inspiring five-day course during the February half-term, led by our expert faculty staff from the full-time school, alongside guest professionals from the theatre industry.

This course focusses on vocational development through high-quality training, helping students build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and grow as performers. No audition is required, and the course is open to students with some theatre experience as well as complete beginners.

Set in a warm and welcoming environment, it’s also a fantastic way to make new friends while exploring the world of performance.

The course includes classes in a variety of theatre styles:

Singing
Singing with Microphone Technique
Street Dance
Jazz

Whether you're taking your first step into theatre or looking to sharpen your skills, this course offers an exciting and supportive experience for all.

Easter Theatre Classes

Our vibrant four-day Easter course is led by a team of experienced teachers from our full-time school, along with guest professionals from the theatre industry.

Designed to support vocational development, the course provides high-quality training while helping students build confidence, improve communication skills, and grow as performers. No audition is required, making it ideal for both newcomers and those with prior theatre experience. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to make new friends in a warm and welcoming environment.

Students will take part in a wide range of exciting theatre classes, including:

Audition Technique
Street Dance
Jazz
Singing
Singing with Microphone Technique
Basic Circus Skills

Course Structure:
On the first day, students are introduced to their sessions. From the second day onwards, they have the option to continue with their group’s assigned schedule or explore additional classes in singing, drama, and dance. Each day is packed with creative, high-energy sessions that encourage participation, development, and fun.

Summer Courses

Theatre Classes Course

Our highly popular and vibrant five-day Theatre Course is open to all young people aged 7–18. Whether you're new to the stage or have previous experience, this course offers an exciting, high-energy week of theatre training.

What’s Included:

Throughout the week, students will enjoy a packed schedule of engaging, high-quality classes, including:

  • Drama
  • Audition Technique
  • Singing
  • Singing Micr Tech
  • Street Dance
  • Jazz Dance
  • Basic Circus Skills

How It Works:
On Monday, students are introduced to their group sessions and the week's schedule. From Tuesday onward, they have the flexibility to stick with their assigned group sessions or explore additional optional classes in singing, drama, and dance.

Family Friday:
Parents and guardians are warmly invited to drop in and observe classes at any time on Friday to see what their children have been working on.
Please note: We advise students not to bring valuables, as we cannot be held responsible for any lost or damaged personal items.

Extra classes:
Free additional classes in singing, drama, and dance are offered daily from 4:00–4:50 PM. Students can sign up each morning to take part in these optional after-school sessions.

Age Groups:
Students work in separate groups according to age, but generally our age groupings are:

Musical Theatre Course

An intensive and exciting week of rehearsals concluded with a studio-style workshop performance on Saturday, with parents/carers invited to attend and celebrate the students’ achievements.

This course is tailored for students aged 10–18 who have experience in drama, singing, and dance, and for those aspiring to pursue a career in the performing arts. Students must be fluent in both spoken and reading English.

Throughout the week, students will engage in:

Group and solo singing
Scripted scene work
Choreography and movement

Each age group works closely with a dedicated team consisting of a Director, Musical Director, and Choreographer. The experience is both demanding and rewarding, designed to push students creatively and professionally in a supportive environment.

Age Groups:
10–11 years
12–13 years
14–18 years

Please note: During the booking process, boys and girls register separately to help us manage group placements effectively.

Daily Times:
School opens at 9.30 each day.
Rehearsals commence at 10.00 each day and end at 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
Saturday morning performance. Call times are given on the Friday. 
School closes at 5.00pm.
Students being collected by parents/carers MUST be collected each day by 5pm.

Wizard Video
Wizard Video will film each workshop production. An online viewing link will then be sent to each parent to keep. Payment for the link is an additional cost and is payable directly to Wizard Video through the online booking system.
